We are seeking a Java Developer with 5+ years of programming experience using Java for a back-end/mid-tier area / J2EE experience concentrating on EJB, JDBC, servlets, and configuring Application Servers. Role / Responsibilities:

• Adhere to pre-defined programming standards set by Application Architects
• Create documentation using established PMO standards
• Develop recommendations regarding further definition of development standards and application architecture principles
• Address system problems during off hours with the guidance from other members of the development staff, as needed
• Perform unit testing and assist in user testing of programming modifications
• Maintain technical knowledge through training or other measures
• Provide technical estimates
• Translate high-level requirements into detailed technical designs, and lead design sessions and code walk-throughs
• Mentor Analysts on technical and functional aspects of the applications
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Established understanding of technologies, procedures, and concepts within specialized area
• Knowledge of relational database concepts, including interacting with databases from client applications using stored procedures required
• Ability to read and create UML diagrams
• Ability to handle multiple tasks
• Excellent organizational skills
• Great attention to detail
• Knowledge of source control systems such as VSS, CVS or TFS

Intermediate level proficiency with the follow:

• C#, Java and OOP Programming
• SQL and Oracle Databases
• APIs-JMS, COM, Sockets
• VSS Source Control Systems
• Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Education and Experience:

• 5+ years of proven success as an Application Developer required
• 5+ years of programming experience using OOP
• 5+ years experience in writing and debugging multi-threaded applications
• C# programming experience preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
