We are currently interviewing candidates for a Sr. Database Administrator opportunity.  Ideally those with installation of 9i and 10g, plus patch wave maintenance, RAC, Replication and ASM experience would be a good match for our client.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
• Oracle, SQL Server 9i-10g
• Experience with multiple data center support and disaster recovery planning and testing
• Experience with installation, configuration and upgrades of vendor-supplied software, including contacting vendor on enhancements and problems
• Experience with database replication software e.g., EMC SRDF, Quest Shareplex, E-Net RRDF
• Proficient in 3 or more programming languages
• Basic knowledge of financial services industry
• Ability to mentor others
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and/or as an individual contributor, as required
• Ability to work independently
• Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, etc. preferred or equivalent experience in information systems

Role / Responsibilities:

• Technical Leader and Advisor to all DBAs and Project Teams
• Develop standards and procedures for database design, data access coding and storage
• Resolve database performance issues in high pressure situations
• Proactively monitors and resolves database issues
• Support virtual data center concepts and replication
• Performs software installation and maintenance
• Build vendor relationships to ensure future direction of database subsystems
• Provide 24-hour on-call support on a rotational basis
